If you need to find a place that feels comfortable and supportive, let Roots Through Recovery’s experienced clinicians and case management team work with you to help determine your next steps. We want you to have choices that will give you and your loved ones the best outcomes.
We are trauma-informed in our approach and have clinicians on staff specializing in DBT, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and grounding practices including meditation and mindfulness, with years of experience developing individualized treatment programs based on the unique needs of each client. Case management, life skills development and ongoing support are wrapped into our model for care in an effort to create sustainable life change.
All of our clients are encouraged to join a recovery community and regularly attend meetings, such as 12-step, SMART and Refuge. We realize there is no singular path to recovery and while we promote and encourage abstinence, we want to be inclusive of all those in need of treatment. Our highly trained and ethical clinical team and medical director evaluate the specific needs of each individual client.
For people dealing with addiction, mental health, trauma or chronic pain, getting the right care at any stage of their journey is critical. That’s why we provide people with the best care and resources they need in Long Beach. If we are not the right place for you, we will help you find a place that meets your specific needs. We want to help!
Roots Through Recovery’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) supports individuals coping with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues, guiding you in recovery and wellness as you continue to function in everyday life. We offer treatment options that incorporate traditional 12-step philosophies, as well as non-traditional alternatives. We believe there are many paths to recovery. The IOP program is three hours a day, three to five days a week and is offered at various times throughout the day to accommodate busy work and life schedules. In our IOP, experienced and highly trained clinicians and behavioral health specialists provide a personalized combination of individual counseling and group treatment offerings to address substance abuse, trauma and co-occurring mental health issues. In IOP, individuals will receive support in lifelong recovery by reconnecting with themselves and delving into underlying trauma that is at the root of addiction.
Roots Through Recovery offers a day treatment program (referred to as PHP, or Partial Hospitalization) to individuals with a level of care similar to that found at inpatient or residential treatment, but with the convenience and independence of living at home or in a sober living program.
Roots Through Recovery’s outpatient program, or “OP”, provides a personalized combination of both one-on-one and group counseling for up to three hours a week to meet each individual’s needs. With our outpatient program, individuals who have successfully completed an inpatient or IOP/PHP program for substance abuse and mental health issues, or whose level of need can be met with limited engagement can continue to receive support as they carry out their personal and professional lives in recovery.
We provide care that is specific to your needs with individualized groups and counseling, and research-backed interventions for specialized populations including:
At every level of care, you will meet one-on-one with your primary therapist for individual therapy, where you’ll be able to dig deeper into the issues you’re facing and build on the work done in group settings. This time provides you with a qualified professional to listen without judgment, giving you the space to safely raise and address personal issues and allowing you to process deeper trauma.
Many approaches to treatment are conducted in a group setting with your peers, led by a professional who specializes in the facilitation of that group. Group therapy has many benefits, including being able to learn from the challenges and successes of other people who are recovering from drug or alcohol use, providing a space for a culture of accountability as you practice your coping skills, and growing in your recovery as part of a community that can help lift you up in the most challenging times and provide you the opportunity to do the same for others.
Case management is provided on a daily basis as a system of both support and accountability. You will meet with your case manager on a regular basis to check in on your relapse prevention plan and involvement in community recovery meetings. Your case manager will also work with you to address legal, family and personal issues.
FAMILY INTEGRATION AND HEALING
Multi-family groups are provided to clients and their family members to help everyone in the recovery process. Groups include topics like psycho education, enabling behaviors, codependency and pain and loss. Our clinicians incorporate role reversal exercises, learning to manage enabling behaviors, and teach families the importance of mindfulness in the recovery process.
