But celebrating at home with someone you trust can avoid the triggers that make it challenging to be as safe from the virus as possible. If you are used to drinking at festive occasions, ringing in the New Year with alcohol and COVID 19, it can be not easy. However, if you are drinking at a party, you may be drinking more than at other times of the year. This means no holiday traffic, no awkward conversations with strangers, and no video chat with relatives, but a quiet night at home with friends and family.
Enjoy decadent treats (sweet or savory or not), fill the table with fun board games, or find a fun, competitive video game. It’s also a bit easier not to drink if you don’t get your hands on it, but remember to change channels before the ball drops at midnight.
